Goreme



Literally carved into the volcanic rock, the town of Goreme is the gateway to the Goreme National Park, large site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage harboring spectacular cave churches of the tenth and eleventh centuries. Popular backpackers, the park itself is famous for its geological formations shaped chimneys. It is also the ideal place to indulge in gastronomy and Turkish wine.
